1: To-do list/thought download: Write down everything in your head/all of the tasks you need to complete this coming week. Use your Brain Dump from your Quarterly Reviews to help you plan.

2: Identify the needle-movers From the list above, identify the tasks that are 'needle-movers' i.e. the ones that'll bring you closer to your goals. Hint: these are usually the tasks that you might be afraid or be resistant to do

3: Eliminate, delegate, automate Eliminate any tasks that don't need to be done, delegate any tasks that you can (to someone else or your future self), and automate any tasks that are recurring. Then assign these tasks by order of priority: High, Medium and Not Urgent.

4: Schedule committments Calendar your commitments i.e. work, responsibilities, classes, workouts etc.

5: Schedule clean rest Calendar time where you can rest without guilt. Aim for at least one full day per week if not a full weekend, and establish a cut-off point for work in the evenings allowing you to have a clean break before bed.

6: Schedule needle-moving tasks Calendar when you'll complete your need-moving ideas. Aim to complete 1-2 per week.

7: Identify obstacles and make a contingency plan What will you do if you don't complete your needle-moving tasks due to external circumstances or internal restrictions? How will you stay on track?

8: Review workability Is your schedule workable? If your boss handed you your calendar, would you have any concerns or complaints?

9: Commit to every outcome Make a promise to your future self to commit to following through on your schedule.
