Ok, before we dive in – YOU’VE GOT THIS! As you embark on this journey of pursuing some of your wildest, biggest dreams and goals, things might not always go to plan.

Most people think that effort and success are always directly linked ie. the more effort you put in, the more success you get out. But unfortunately, the path to success isn’t a straight line. It’s a journey that ebbs and flows, is sometimes great but also means that things don’t always work out the way you expect them to. You may fail to reach your quarterly milestone, or you might have to do something over and over again before you get it right but that is part of the process.
Going after a goal that seems impossible means you have to get comfortable with being uncomfortable, and know that you will likely fail at some hurdles. But that doesn’t mean you’re not good enough. It simply means you need to pick yourself up and try again. Although you might not have the skills you need right now, to achieve what you want to achieve, you need to keep doing it.
Skills are something we learn as we travel through life and are only developed through practice, perseverance, and ultimately being patient with ourselves. Most people will give up before the rewards of that work shows up. Unfortunately, the amount of work you put in does not correlate to the amount of success you enjoy at any given moment AND it’s not always visible.
But also, what you have learnt to believe about yourself will inevitably show up in your ego. The thing that keeps you safe and hidden, and in the comfort zone because it believes “you can’t do this”. And especially, when things go wrong or you feel like you’ve studied for a year and learnt nothing, fear and doubt arise. You get disheartened by the empty results and give up, but it’s in these moments you need to have self-trust and belief that something will come to you.

That means knowing it will happen, even if you don’t know how. Even when you don’t hit your milestone or you feel like nothing is working, trust yourself that all your work is paying off – even if you can’t see it right now.
